Errr, I only write them for certain types of games, and even then, they're quite bad or cheezy.

[shameless poetry plug] my poetry thread [/shameless poetry plug]

Good job, guys

Edit:

Thought I'd add some more personalized remarks.

@blastradius: That's a lot of love poetry  Actually, that's a lot of poetry, period. My, you are prolific Enjoyable, though.

@Kon-Tiki: I think your rhymes are clever

@Doubler: Wow, I had no idea you were so good with words... I think that it was posted during a too-busy-for-AB time period for me But really, good stuff

so what have i got to say?
amongst all the confusion
its all an illusion that im in control of my life,
and it comes along to suprise me with its delights
and all the hypocrysiy right..

so what have i got to say?
theres no point dont you see
were living in a world where speech isnt really free
just be afraid for what the future could hold
it makes me feel so f*ing cold

all i do is shiver inside

we could be free
but evryone lies all the time
humanitys fate is bloody
and to it we are resighned

------------------------------------------its longer but i cant be bothered

I've got a bunch of lyrical poetry, partially covered in [another shameless advertising]my artcorner[/another shameless advertising]

This is one I wrote a couple of years ago:

WOUNDED

I've lead a life in a porcelain shell
Thought I was safe, far away from this hell
Then my life changed and the cracks appeared
My shelter broke and the sharves cut my flesh

Now I am wounded
And injured by delay
I feel so helpless
I'm drifting away

I look at you with two different eyes
One blinks with truth and one blinks with lies
I know it's not as bad as it seems
But I can't help all the fear in this mind

'Cause I am wounded
And injured by delay
I remain helpless
I'm drifting away

So what is left
What was never there that should have been?
Is there a point
A point for me to go
And if there is how should I know?

The answer's right here in my head
I feel it pounding kicking screaming
Bleeding 'cause of all it's been through
Held back, misguided, numbed and sore
With the pain I feel
It's calling me, it's calling you
In a desperate attempt to be noticed

One day
..One day..

Wish I wasn't wounded
So I wouldn't have to pay
The price of being helpless
Then I could be just on my way

I wrote some poetry in Dutch and some song lyrics in English, but I think myh Dutch work is better... I'm a bit vocubalarily chalenged in English... If anyone wants to read my Dutch stuff I'll post it, though...

Oh. wait, I did post a bit in the Haiku-chat on Kingdom of Loathing

I drank many beers
This makes me speak far too much
Must learn to shut up

etcetera :P

I guess I could post a old school haiku:

She lays there smiling
as the wind wraps her slowly
Bed of fallen leaves

Blind love, my eyes shut
See her dance on nothing but
mud and cold snow

Short days are long gone
Window where she stands is home
Red roses blossom

Heaven lost and found
And how lovely is her sound
As butterflies fly

Trees stripped once again
Graceful dance under the rain
And I still love her
