my favorites :)
As i am a strategy fan, the best games for me are Civilization II, and UFO enemy unknown Not that i don't have and other beloved games... but those, as i believe, are the true cornerstones of their categories... I would put and Starcraft in the list, but i am not sure that it is a abandonware game

Starcraft is not abandonware. It wont be for years and years. I got a free copy of starcraft with my german PC Games magazine this month. I don't like the game but it's nice to have all the same.

thats for sure... "abandonware" is a term used for games that are abandoned from the companies that produce them... As i know Blizzard in 2003 created a new patch for the game So it is not abandoned at all

I only played civ2 in multiplayer (LAN game) once and although I won I did not like the experience. Civ in it's hart is not a multiplayer game. Too many wonders give too much of an advantage to the player who controls it and if you are the one that is it's okay but your opponents would disagree. Civ3 is marginally better on that since the most powerfull wonder in the game (Leonardo's workshop) has been toned down. Still if you control two or three of the key wonders you are in a very good position to win the game and that's just too easy for a combined 1200 resource investment.

The best strategy game I'm playing at the moment (downloaded from this site) is UFO: Enemy Unknown and it's great! k: I'm still at the begining for the moment cause I'm still studying it (story, how to play it, etc.)
