Ah I didnt know NASA ever confirmed that, very interesting. It may be morbid but I can see the reason behind considering that option.
The Soviets were pretty hardcore so I wouldnt put it past them going through with it as a back up plan |

Yes, morbid was the word I was looking for before I abandoned that one sentece .
Well, the Soviets never built a re-entry function for Leica's capsule, but it was "just a dog", as they might have thought. This being given, it actually might be interesting to find out wether the Soviets ever planned on sending people into space in a similar capsule - with or without cyanide pills. |
