Guys i have downloaded many games from this site including Heroes of Might and magic and they are all great... I had the windows 98 before so i faced no trouble running them... But since i switched to XP trouble started.. I downloaded DoxBox, did everything right, but when i type the name of the .exe file that runs the game in DOSBOX, the window of DOSBOX disappears and the whole operation is aborted.. I end up looking to my desktop again.. HELP PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!! for some other games, they worked under XP but too fast.. I downloaded The CPUKiller3 and tried to run it in the same time of game, no result... Guys i am bored to death without my classic games so SAVE MEEEEEE!!! (excuse me if this was the wrong place to post such a distress call but i did not know exactly where to post it...)

The game works only if if i mount the cd in dosbox... but I have another problem, i can't save... is says "no space", if i install the game from setup to a folder it doesn't work at all... what can I do to get the game runing and to be able to save?
This worked to get the game running: mount d c:\heroes -f cdrom -label heroes d: heroes ... but the virtual cd d: is created with 0 freespace I tried the -size and -freespace command but it doesn't work on the virtual cd... If i type mount c c:\ and install the game to drive c the game does't work at all giving me the error "can't find cfg" or it closes dosbox There is no point playing the game if i can't save... |

Just buy the darn game. I got the Platinum Pack for $20 used at a local EB. It rocks. I have:
- HOMM 1 - HOMM 2 + Expansion - HOMM 3 + 2 Expansions - A nice flimsey cd holder holding the 4 cds! |

First I unzipped heroes to E:\ (C: or D: or any other drive should work also) I used XP's "run" (Start -> Run) and typed "cmd" . Then "E:\" , "cd heroes" and "install". Selected "1", "0" (= SB / compactible"), "4" (= "save") and the letter of my "CD-rom". Typed "Heroes" and started to play. Saving (and loading) works without any problems. (By the way, my soundcard is SBLive! Value with kXaudio drivers.) |

Anyone knows why 3do went down?
Its not like they didn,t have some big titles. I do asume mm9 was done with the last bit of cash they had. That was just sad. But for the rest i would say the mm and the homm titles should have sold well. Black isle was killed i think, devoured you could say. I think i`ll just look angry at EA again and download one of their games i won,t like anyways as illigally as possible. They deserved that. |

If that doesn't help, you can always skip 1 or 2 frames.
