I've discovered that you can't get a good host unless you look a long time... or know someone that can help you.

I found X10hosting (http://www.x10hosting.com) are excellent... they give all you need and cpanel with the lots... FOR NOTHING so head over there and follow their instructions to sign up on their forum. One thing tho... you need an ad on all pages (but most places want that eh?) and you need to sign into your Cpanel once 2 weeks.

Sorry for that but usually I do have limited time to read all posts (especially at work) But I'll endeavour to do so to satisfy the critics

But there is also a forum that has a long list of webhosts and ppl offering hosting that can be used for this purpose as well:

I'm having trouble getting PhpBB installed. I get up to the part where you change permissions, then it doesn't work. This is from the tutorial.

What exactly is the problem you have Bobbin? And also remember that it will take a MySQL Database to have the forum up

Edit: In the tutorial it shows clearly what you have to do to change the permissions on the config.php file... it's in the root of the phpbb folder where you uploaded your files to. And all you have to do is select the chmod function in the right click menu and then set numbers to 666 (read, write on everything)
