This has got to be one of the best games of all time. They just don't write great storylines like this into today's games. I wish there were more games like SC2.

 I can't believe I forgot all about this game when arranging my top 10 favorite old games! I loved it, still love it, especially since now that the 3DO opensource version with SPEECH is online, makes it even better (although I don't really find the voices of the Yehat and the Orz to be well suited). Anyway, as they would say at the underdogs: thumbs up! k:

Mining is essential, and you DO make get e lot of credits out of it, you just have to:
1- concentrate on the valuable resources 2- find out which planets are likely to have good resources (eg. red and yellow planets are often good) 3- MAKE NOTES. When you upgrade your lander the lightning-strikes and earthquakes (and eventually the hot-spots) won't bother you any more. |

For people who get garbled video and have not yet figured out how to fix, using Dosbox 0.63:
Make a txt document. Inside is this line: starcon2.exe /g:bios Rename this txt file to sc2.bat Put this file in your starcon2 directory [where all the files are] Make a starcon2.conf for your DOSbox. If you have not figured it out, you should, it is fun. Make your shortcut point to the bat: [with your folders, not mine]: C:\DOSBox\DOSBox-0.63\dosbox.exe c:\dosgames\Starcon2\sc2.bat -conf starcon2.conf If you still do not know what .conf is, just skip the "-conf starcon2.conf" part and Dosbox will use the default. Click on your shortcut and have fun. I confess, I only ever played SC3, my first CD game, so I am really going to enjoy this now that I 'make it go'. |
