Whoopee, got them both.
Bought an Apacer 512MB RAM stick (DDR) and a Q-Tec webcam (up to 640x480, but what the heck - it works and it's economical ). Havent installed the RAM yet, but the PC is occupied so - I'll be doing it later. Thanks for the time and I hope the rams work (they didn't know if the stick was 184pins, but it should, right? Cause all the first DDR's are 184pins and all DDR2 sticks are 240pins.). |

Heh, I knew I figured that out somehow.
P.S. Still haven't felt that sort of "jump" in atleast a few frames. I do notice the fasted loads, but I thought doubleing my current RAM would be sufficient. Does the videocard really do the magic wonders I'm lookin' for  ? Cause I have an FX5500 128MB and I was wondering - what would be different if it were, say: 256MB. I don't think this would be a megasized increase, but what about changing this to that or say to a GeForce 7300GS 256MB??? Look at me - always with the questions... |

depends on the games you play. And the speed of the hard drive.

ram is memory for any data on computer while memory on graphic card for rendering and remembering data so it won't have to be rendered again.
for example if you play TES oblivion with max very high view distance it takes lots of memory in graphic card and if you don't have enough it will have to render stuff more often and rewrite data in memory of graphic card. if you play it on graphic card with more memory, then there will be more "place" for rendered stuff

If you intend (sp?) on getting a new card next year and stay with Windows Vista (aka new directX) then even a x1900xt would be a waste of money. Just wait for the graphics cards that fully support DX10 (or whatever the new name is).

It is DX10 and I agree. I have decided to do the same myself.

Also, it's not as much size as speed of the RAM on your graphics card that matters. I doubt many games make use of 512 MB so far.
Also, you might be a bit better off going for a graphics card with 128 MB of GDDR3... it's faster. |

Or just go with 512MB (maybe 1024MB if they will have one out then) with GDDR3 (GDDR4???).
