Default Problems running Myst

I'm playing Myst Masterpiece edition but having bad sound problems - lots of crackling and interference.

I've tried lowering the hardware acceleration but it doesn't help.

any ideas?

ubisoft still suports this, i guess you could ask them

btw is myst masterpiece that first myst re-made into full 3d realtime rendered world?
or just re-released 2d pre-rendered one?

i think you might want to try u/reinstalling your quicktime then
or running it under virtual machine, in win98 or so
