Yes...
I am sorry about that. I mixed up DosBox with my MSM Messenger, which I updated at the same time...

Newest DosBox is version 0.61
Newest MSM Messenger is 6.2

Again. I'm sorry....

You may throw your watermelons, now...

Always heard of Ultima Series, because I was into games like Excelsior, Might and Magic (I LOVED MandM 1) Hack, Hank'n'Slash etc. But I never played it.

I was just wondering if Ultima 1-5 is on the way to RPG? Because I saw the intro to 6 and I am already hooked into the story.

I may only be 15, but up with Nostalgic gaming

Well I'll look into putting them up, although I must admit that I didn't like them nearly as much as 6 and 7. then again, that's a personal opinion and I know for a fact that Ultima 4 is a cult classic.

The Ultima 1 to 5 were little better on C64, Mac and Amiga, as they had music on these too, unlike the crippled PC-versions. But I still like Ultima 5, which I have. I never played part 1 to 4 though...

Default Interesting Links

Just to go back to Ultima 6 here, check out these sites:

http://red5.graf.torun.pl/~rackne/u6like.html - Maps for Ultima 6, Savage Empire and Martian Dreams (which use the same game engine)

http://3e8.org/hacks/ultima6/ - World editor for above mentioned games

http://www.it-he.org/ultima6.htm - Page about things to try in Ultima 6 (I love the title: "Things your mother never told you about Ultima 6")

http://www.geocities.com/galleondragon/index.html - Interesting one: A Ultima 6 MMPORG. Looks great!

Another one that involves ALL the Ultimas: http://reconstruction.voyd.net/

It's called Ultima: The Reconstruction and it links to all projects on the net that are trying to fix/remake any of the Ultima games.

Running Windows XP on a P4 3.0 GHz with a SB Audigy 2 ZS. Dosbox doesn't give me audio when I run the game. Anyone else run into this? Other games run fine in it (Eye of the Beholder I and II for example).

Did you set the music as Adlib? It should do the job, normally...
If it doesn't, download and install VDMSound additionally, you can get it here: http://www.ece.mcgill.ca/~vromas/vdmsound/
Hope that helps.

I can't wait to start playing this again. I bought this game the day it came out using every penny I had(70 dollars). It atleast came with an audio tape by Lord British, was signed by Lord British and Dennis Loubet.
I had a race with my buddy to see who could finish the game first. Inviting shery the mouse into the party was the tricky part.
This game is one of the best ever. It did not run all that well on my 8086 but was still fun. The Savage Empire and Martian game were also very good.
