A loong time ago, I've played a sub simulator game on PC (at my nephews house). It could've been Silent Service, but it might as well been something else (probably is). The game is pretty ancient as far as I know.

So, you're looking for military sub sims (silent service and that sort), or just about any sub sim?

I'm talking ancient here (Larry period I guess). Subwar 2050 isn't ancient. Neither is Silent Hunter so it seems.

Ok, then: Pre-1993. Silent hunter came out in the mid 80's. http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/silent-service. I'm not sure how more ancient it can get, if we're talking about dos games.

GATO seems to be abandoned, according to The List, but it's also a Spectrum Holobyte game, and S.H. is an ESA member. But I guess that even ESA members abandon their games from time to time
