Hi guys!
Today I was searching some good titles in the web and I've found a strange and interesting game...
UFO Aftermath! (2003)
What can you tell me about it?
Is it a well done (official) remake of the great Enemy Unknown? :w00t:
The screenshots are really impressive...but you know that sometimes the first impression could be wrong .
Thanks

I have that, and to speak frankly, I don't like it at all. It isn't a remake, it's a whole new story about earth being invaded by aliens. And it isn't even really turn-based; you order your soldiers what to do, and they do it. You can pause the time at will to give more orders. The Afterlight and Aftershock are too realtime, but from what I've heard, they're better than Aftermath.

I suggest you wait for UFO: Extraterrestials, which is an unofficial sequel to Enemy Unknown. And it is really turnbased!

See the Wikipedia article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFO:_Extraterrestrials

In a word: no. Ufo: Aftermath is another great disapointment which stands in the "we try to recreate Xcom but fail miserably because we work only on graphics" category.

I bought the game and classified it quite fast in the same folder than MOO 3... Sadly, that's because it's a very bad game. If you are looking for a dumbed down but graphically improved Xcom tough, you'll get your money worth.

Ok, thanks for the advice.
I hope UFO: Extraterrestials will be a good remake

I am very sorry but Aftermath is a big pile of poo. I played it through to the end but it was alot of wasted time and effort. The scenarios are repetitive and dull. The whole game just doesn't feel as good as UFO enemy unknown and TFD.. I have played most of the UFO games even the dreaded UFO Enforce (ugh). The latest incarnation that I have played UFO: Aftershock is still lacking the soul of the originals but the scenarios rotate well and the amount of weapons is interesting. I personally get a bit lost with all the research BUT my biggest problem and the only reason I haven’t completed this game is…… If you loose a country to the aliens (or get it forcibly taken from you in for having every zone) the tracks connecting the country are disabled Permanently and you can never build there again. This bug :ranting: was terrible…. Wrecked the whole game! :ranting:
Well I am waiting for my new UFO afterlight with great anticipation of something better than aftershock and aftermath!!

An in comes the opposition:

I must say i enjoyed Aftermath realy much. The gameplay DOES become repedative after a while but it's still decently fun.
The second however, Aftershock, is loads of fun! Was a looong time since i enjoyed a game THAT much.
Only annoing this is the Starforce protection that takes about 30 secs at the startup to verify the disc.
Was soo annoing that i downloaded a cracked version of it and just installed over, and gone was the protection
