Will you use Windows Vista with it's system requirements so high ?

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/windowsvi...e/vistarpc.mspx

All it looks like they have done is given it a paint job and added some extra rubbish, if I have to use Windows I'll use XP. :ranting:

They've got a lot of work to do yet. We'll see if it's worth it when it's finished.

By the time Im getting a new computer Widows Vista will definitely be standard (if not a newer version), so yeah I will probably buy it, but not for my current PC.

It will depend on several things:
  • * What the retail price will be (I always build my own PC, so no OEM's for me)
    * The software I really NEED to run (if I don't need Windows at all, why bother)
    * My financial disposition (obviously)
All in all, I will probably upgrade, but I won't be a trendsetter and might not even be an early adapter of Vista, but it really depends on my needs...

I'll almost certainly use it, but not right away. Chances are I'll use it at work long before I use it at home.

Probably not. That's just way to much bloat. Any new computer I buy with it on would probably have it's power halved by Vista. I'll carry on using XP or learn how to use Linux.

There is actually a big shift to Linux in the works. My Mum works for the UK Government and there's plans to start using Debian there within the next few years. The Civil Sercice is hardly on the very cutting edge of technology so there must be similar ppans afoot in the private sector.. I predict an end to the age of Microsoft within the next few years (remember, you heard it here first).

High requirements? Where?
512MB of RAM isn't much at all. I dont even remember a time when I had that little..
