DOSBox should create CDrive folder by it self, and mount it by using relative path.
Another thing would be to have shortcut for DOSBox placed on desktop, and shortcut for CDrive folder. using relative path, it does not matter where user places DOSBox. This will definitly help. Another thing that might help is nicer gui interface, something like WinUAE has. |

Using relative path, DOSBox will use path="CDrive" to access the CDrive folder which is located in the same folder where is DOSBox.
If we use absolute path, then it might vary, as some users will install DOSBox on differen partitions, directories etc. |

it would be better if there is some command for "key binding" or "command binding?"
for example bind abc "mount c d:\omfg\wtf\rofl" //abc should be a name for command new (saved maybe in some .ini file) and maybe there would be more commands in key bindings

i have created a *.bat shortcut at my desktop for each of my games that run throw DOSBox. the basic command of one of these shortcuts is something like this (for example) "c:\program files\applications\DOSBox-0.62\DOSBox d:\games\Lords\lords.exe -exit".
however using these shortcuts i can' t take screenshots as i get a message in the second window saying "can' t open dir capture for capturing screenshot". i think this is caused by that absolute/relative path thing. |

They should give the prog a proper name, which prevents all this confusion between DOSBox and the Windows dosbox.

@Data,
I believe that by default, DOSBox should mount C-Drive and show C prompt when started, and for more advance users make that editable in config file. Something like some other downloading software can do. They create folder for downloads, but you can edit location if needed. @Shrek, use DFend. It's nice DOSBox front end. @Data again. I think that they might consider to combine DFend with DOSBox. Its GUI interface is nice, and for seasoned users, there is still way to start vanila DOSBox. |
