Hi everyone! I just downloaded Player Manager 2 but I can't get it to work using DosBox.
Can someone help me?

I extracted the game into a folder and placed it in my C drive.
Then, using DosBox I did this

1. mount C "C:\Player Manager 2"
2. C:
3. dir.exe

And there are several things over there (Setup.exe ; MAIN.EXE; DOS4GW.EXE; etc)

when I type either main.exe or DOS4GW.EXE it says that this game runs in a "protective mode" or something like that. And I can't run this game as a result.

What did I miss or did wrong?

ah, great to play this again, been looking for it for a long time (which can be hard if you cannot recall the game's name :notrust But I would have sworn that this game also had some nifty visuals in for the highlights...some textbased review if I remember correct, but when there was a goal or something, you got a short 3d visual of the shooter and keeper...or am i completely wrong for the version of this game?

I am pretty sure you are talking about Player Manager 2 Extra: The Chase for Glory.

Also, I have the full version of the game (with sound and music). Is anyone interested?

You should upload this somewhere. It's very difficult to find for download on the internet. One of my favourite football manager games. The best part is the very in-depth training controls.

A lot of the graphics (apart from when playing the actual match) were excellent for the time and haven't dated too badly. I always had problems running this in DOSBox, though, and it was impossible to get it going under Windows.

You are right-it's very difficult to find the full version of the game these days. Therefore, I hope I won't violate anything by posting a link here.

You can download it at http://www.onlinebizwizard.com
Just look in the download section.

I hope abandonia downloads it too. Why have a CD-rip when you can have the full version, right?

Assuming the full version is not too large, of course.

Archive updated. The SBL0.BIN (Sound Blaster file) was missing. No black screen because Can't load sound driver anymore.

Hi,

Going back to page 2 of this thread when someone talked about this game aborting. I'm having the same problem. After playing an indeterminate number of seasons within the game (sometimes it happens after 3-4 seasons, sometimes more) the game randomly exits to the Dosbox command prompt with the following message:

"Abort = 1224 64"

Anyone recognise this or what it could be? It's probably just a bug with the game but if there is something I could do within Dosbox to stop this it would be great.

Thanks,

Sighmohn

Hi

I`m having the same problem, after 3-4 seasons the team is suddenly not full, I`ve checkt the team several times and it`s full (11 player + 2 sub). my game is not aborting, i just cant continue because i can`t play the next game. Do enybody know why this problem occours? I`ve read through some other forums and there is something with saving more than 6 time one season, but i`ve played 4 season straight. Do enybody have this game and have played more than 5-6 seasons? where this not problem occours?
I`m using DosBox, and the game is working perfect until the problem with "not full team".

Thanks,

S-Dawg
