Default MPAA screws with TPB, Anon screws them back

After a source from UG
Quote:
The MPAA have been paying Indian company Aiplex to DDoS the Pirate Bay pulling it down.

As a resposne, Anonymous DDoS'ed Aiplex and the MPAA pulling it down.

What wasn't covered in the press though was the campaign against the CEO fo the MPAA himself. He was prank dialed, black faxed and pizza delivery spammed - all the usual hijinks. But I especially loved the Formal Letter heads made and sent out to a raft of Charities pledging large somes of money from the CEO personally - including Scientology. Plus his Linked In account was hacked and covered with gay porn, no useful information came out of the hack though.

Well yesterday (last night for me, so sleeepy today at work), a campaign was waged against ACS: Law who has been mass spamming suspected infringers threatening them to cough up 500 pounds or face the courts. As you would expect a lot of people settled.

So Anon DDoS'ed the ACS: Law website and all the usual hijinks, but someone managed to get access to there email system and downloaded a bunch of internal records.

Quote:
The leaks consisted of about 1,000 confidential e-mails and attachments. It is thought documents may have also been acquired from the company's servers.

The collection was then uploaded to file sharing website The Pirate Bay, where it is being shared by hundreds of users.

The confidential messages include personal correspondence between Andrew Crossley - who runs ACS:Law - and work colleagues detailing a number of cases and how much money the firm had made from the letters.

Campaigners, who have long accused the firm of bullying tactics, have seized on the e-mails.

Speaking to BBC News, Mr Crossley said there were "legal issues" surrounding the leak.

"We were the subject of a criminal attack to our systems. The business has and remains intact and is continuing to trade," he added.

Plus right now there is a campaign emailign ISPs asking them to stand out and publically condem ACS:Law and pledge to never work with them.

Is "Anon" somebody specific in this context, or just 4char users collectively?

Those people somewhat make me ashamed to be an anarchist.

Somehow it makes me happy that people can unite and fuck it up for the big players.

Nowadays the Internet is like the Old West. We'll tell our grandchildren about it in the future, when you'll have to provide biometric id to see some porn. And if you get infected with a trojan horse, you'll be able to report it and police will knock at the culprit's door within the hour.
