Man I don't understand how to run DOS. Kings Quest 4 is being a real pain for me to play. I wish someone could talk me through it step by step. Do I need a DOSBOX or sumthin? Confused

DOSBOX could very well solve your problems as it did solve most of mine. DOS is really not that hard to use, once you learn a few of the basic commands. I'm sure there are a number of people on this forum that will be more than willing to help you out, myself included.

Under Utilities on the left side of the screen, click programs, and it is the first program listed. Hope you get things sorted out. If you need help mounting drives and what not, feel free to ask.

running 98 huh? You shouldn't be needing dosbox then because it is just an emulator. What exactly is wrong with Kings Quest 4 when you play it?

is there by chance a sierra.exe file or something in there as well? Actually, just gimme a sec, I'll check myself....Ok, so I had no problem running the game and I'm using XP. You know what? Totally forget about the installer, and just double click the file entitled Sierra.exe That should work...that is the application starter for most Sierra games, for future reference (QFG, KQ, SQ, etc.) Hope this helps!
Edit: Make sure you extract or unzip all of the files from the zipped file into another folder called KQ4 or something like that |
