Nope. Except for the fact that the same webmaster maintain both site, they are as different as night and day.

Well, they were the same once. That is the reason we have a few redirections from AB to AR. Abandonia faced a dilemma to continue to host both abandonware and freeware like HOTU, or to make separate site for freeware. The decision is known.

On the side note. The name of the site is not Abandonia Reloaded but Reloaded Abandonia

It is true that AR "emerged" from Abandonia. At a time, Kosta decided that he didn't want to waste time with freeware games on this site since it was dedicated to DOS games. However, several persons standed up and convinced Kosta it was worth it to open a new site dedicated only to freeware games. From the beginning, both sites walked different path.

The two sites then evolved away from eachother, and if you were to visit Abandonia and AR you'll easily see that it's not the same thing at all. The feeling is different, the community is different and the goals, even if similar in a broad sense, are also different. And up to this date, the number of persons who dabble seriously on both site is down to a very small amount. After a little while, people decided to either stick with Abandonia or to migratre to AR, depending of their own personal taste.

As for Abandonia Reloaded/Reloaded Abandonia, I don't really know what the deal is all about. I am pretty sure we always refered to AR as Abandonia Reloaded since it got out, as the often used initials (AR) would tell. I know that at some point it switched over on the main page, but for what reason... I have no idea.

This is not by any means an insult, just an observation - Wikipedia seems very bureaucratic...

Anyways, I'm glad it's all sorted.

I have to agree.
On the other hand this might be 'cause of loads of muck happening in the past, casting doubt on their credibility.

About the 5 days, I was extremely lucky to notice the problem in time.
I knew about the existance of our article, but I never read it before that day

I wouldn't call it the same. It was a dilemma that some superb games - which you don't want to miss - were freeware, others were thought they weren't but were. So the idea arose to make a site for this games, and other quality freeware - including the newest of the newest. If some members of Abandonia would think: "Hm, there are some game reviews for now protected games on Abandonia. Let's make a site on a Luchsurian server where we can't be reached by copyright laws and their minions, and offer them for download, along with a 1000 more ones having no review at Abandonia.", and the site would look similar, you wouldn't say: "Well they were the same once." That's how my information is (and how I hyperbolise it) and how I see it, but I can understand what you're saying. I would say that the idea emerged from here - there were too few freeware games on site as that I could say AB and AR are one and the same split project.

Rawly translated from German translations discussion:

P.S. Does anyone know what's with the not to translate freeware games? Till now they aren't deleted. Would be stupid anyway since you could place an "Abandonia Reloaded" button instead of the "get it" one - some advertising for the new site and no loss of translations.

I would say that we should continue to keep our hands off the freeware games.
I like your suggestion with the "Abandonia Reloaded" button. Just send Kosta a PM...

Yeah, but it kind of has to be, with that they're trying to accomplish. It's like the Senate, only with a few hundred thousand more people. And when you consider two of the "guidelines" are "Process is important" and "Ignore all rules", things get confusing sometimes.

It's a lot of fun for my would-be lawyer mind, though.

Thanks. Unfortunately, most of the games I'm looking for have the protected flag :wallbash: One doesn't. If I get more serious, maybe I'll put in a request.

Even if you hadn't noticed it, you could have got it undeleted just by asking when you did. Simply removing the tag or saying "I don't want it deleted" defeats the prod. It's for stuff that -nobody- wants to keep...you'd be surprised how often someone makes an article and just doesn't care about it.
