Default Azraels Tear

Azrael's Tear is a very interesting 3D first-person adventure game released in 1996 by Mindscape, a subsidiary of Ubisoft. If I understand correctly, this means that its 10 year protection period ended last year, unless it was extended for some reason. The oldwarez list claims that it is abandonware, and I have not seen any evidence of stores selling it. Also, Home of the Underdogs is offering a 70 MB CD-Rip version, for whatever that's worth. DOSBox lists it as fully compatible, as of version #.70. I haven't seen any requests for this game before. I believe it would be an excellent addition to Abandonia.

Azrael's Tear (1996) by Mindscape Inc.

You've done an excellent work my friend but unfortunatly it's still sold at amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Azraels-Tear-PC-CD/d...4873&sr=8-9

I'm sorry but sometimes our Oldwarez list isn't reliable, especially with games published around 1997, it's hard to check if a game is still sold on the planet

In my searching I saw that it was still being sold on Amazon, but isn't there a guideline stating that second hand copies of a game don't count? It says "auctions", but I always assumed that it meant second hand in general. This doesn't matter if there is an actual store in there (not sure if there is one), but I thought I should bring it up.

Yes, you're right, second hand copies of a game don't count but at Amazon there are 5 new copies (about 27$) and 7 used.
Am I wrong?

At least some of those sellers are companies that use Amazon to sell their merchandise, so not all copies on there are second-hand.

The descriptions of a few of those 5 copies sound like "second hand, but unused", to me, but as the fifth horseman said, a few companies use Amazon to sell their merchandise. It looks as though Sail On Software is one of these, so I suppose the game is still technically sold. Thanks for the clarification guys. This is one to watch, though, since it should be abandonware after Sail On sells its copy/copies.

Sure thing. I'll post again in this thread when the situation changes.
