Civ 4 is "Da Game" and Sid Meier did a great job... again
AOE 3 is a piece of... yeah, you get the picture...

I'm playing Civ4 online for some time, if you have the modd for it, join me

I am a CIV freak so there is no question what I would choose... heck I still play the first one for fun
AOE is not good enough to keep me in front of pc for long, but Civilization can get me hooked for days.

CIV is aimed primarily on people who play by themselves against the computer.
AoE3, like all the Age games before it, is mostly focused on online play. So any comparison of the two is pretty shallow. I love both series, but if I have to choose, I'll go with AoE3.

Nulled my vote since I own both. I'd be more likely to recommend Civ4 though.

I ony have Civ 1 & 2. Civ 2 is great, but some games can take a very long time and can bog down into micro-management, with a single turn taking 30 or 40 minutes as you spin through each city. Nothing wrong with that... I really enjoy Civ (and Colonization for that matter). Turn based play as opposed to real time.

AOE is real-time Civ, as the designer of AOE was one of the Civ guys (I think I have that right). I still play AOE2 and just finished a game before I started the AOE 3 demo.

Both games are fun in their own way and both are worthy of accolades and gamer's praise and loyality.

Far more depth and variety to Civ4. No question, to me.
