I'm glad to have the accout, never know when you might need that extra bit of storage, I wonder if hotmail is going to follow yahoo's suit and upgrade their free acounts to 1 GB.

If I remember correctly, the attachment limit there is 500mb, which would be nice if the thing worked fast enough.

I don't mind the 2GB, it can get useful, especially if you start to send a lot of high quality pictures or some other big things, plus there's a program called the GMail drive, which can allow you to create a virtual drive on your comp, so if you want to copy stuff over to your gmail account you can do so.
That'd be great!
I don't know if anyone remembers an old freebie site called X-Drive. They used to do something similar. But only upto like 100mb.
Then they wen't commercial and want like 20 a month or something stupid like that.

Always used to use my remote drive when i'm travellijgn around. k:

I hated that X-Drive at the time. It was nice utility in beggining, but then nice source of problems on computer.

X-Drive did seem to slow down my system when i started using it. But i was only running a PII400 with 28.8Kbps modem at the time.
I'm on 2.8Ghz with 1Mbps connection now, so i'd love to give it a try again.

Yeah I haven't tried out that gmail thing I suggested, it's freeware so that's a good thing, hasn't been updated in awhile though, but I'll prob try it one day, may be useful should problems arise with a comp and I can copy some stuff over to gmail.

Courtesy of Unknown Hero I now have a GMail account: Thanks k:

And I've just tried the GMail drive thing, and it's great. Just adds another hard drive icon in your my computer listed under the 'other' section (in XP).

The only snag is if you set GMail to use a POP3 account, it automatically tries to download whatever you've saved there as an e-mail attachment the next time you check your mail.
But if you use it as a webmail account it's fine!
