I gave up. The damn thing just doesn't work. Default settings, no luck, changed Floppy drive, nothing, changed bootdisk, nuts.

The thing is just *meep*ed up. Gotta buy one at 80 Euros...damn now i have to use sucky money!!! :wallbash: :ranting:

Maybe the FDD controller is fried. If that's so, I suggest you salvage the other components, especially the hard drive.

Another thing you can do is (if you can) plug the hard disk to the other computer and format it with DOS or windows98. that way you won't need the floppy.

if the screen shows the bios memory check and bios info then there must be something wrong with you BIOS setting. if it doesn't come to that then the motherboards is gone....

if you at leats wrote approximatelly what it says on the screen then maybe someone could actually help you. instead you only came with the "it doesn't work." phrase.

BIOS has setting where you set which drive boots first - CD, SCSI (or hard drive) and Floppy. you need to have floppy set as first option. so it will first check the floppy then hard drive and then CD.

if the computer has a CD drive then you can simply put in the win98 CD and it will boot using the CD. that way you can install the windows and later see if somehting is wrong with your floppy.

but usually (in case you dont' know yet) when facing a problem it really is helpfull to spill out all the symptomes, messages you can so oyu can actually get some solution.
