Default No Lan in Starcraft 2

http://kotaku.com/5304113/no-lan-play-for-starcraft-ii

According to Blizzard themselfs, there's gonna be no LAN option in Starcraft 2. Only Battle.net. "Against piracy".

Complaining and boycotting starting in 3, 2, 1...

Terrible, just terrible. What worries me the most is that other companies might follow this.

Damn! Ah well, Hamachi can emulate LAN, there should still be a IPX/TP or whatever there! Pirates will get around this!

Yeah, Hamachi would do the trick but it will be too... inappropriate to use in professional competitions. Most of them are LAN based.

what? no, that's the point. you won't be able to use hamachi, that's why they did not allow lan. so you can't play online via virtual online lan network

Yes exactly - you have to go through Battle.net. LAN parties will be in serious trouble - 400 PCs in a single location using the internet for Battle.net? Unless they got a very powerful connection (which rules out some major LAN locations around the world) they're going to be screwed. Also Battle.NET is a whole let less straightforward than LAN matches.

The problem is that most people will buy it anyway because they won't even know that there's no LAN.
