I remeber when the game was released I tried everywhere to find it (copy or original) but I couldn't. (Atari ST version). I continued searching for it till the late 90s! Then I gave up. It has been a while since I found that version, but I refuse to load it, or the DOS version now. I am afraid I am going to be disappointed with it.

Well, no harm feelings, something is missing in review. This game was created by future creators of X-Com.

Let me tell you a story. Young man spent lot of hours playing X-Com: Apocalypse sometime during 1997. He was more than pleased with what game had to offer. In summer of 2005, this, now much older guy, turned on his old C64 and was loading old games from the tapes, bringing his memory back. Among other games, there were couple of levels of LAser Squad. He barely remembered was the game good or bad. Once again he started to play it and found long-time-ago-seen-but-not-forgotten stuff like equiping his man with Marsec weapon. Yes, you've read it good. I could hardly believe what i was looking at.

Anyway, Laser Squad has gone quitely unnoticed when it came out. Although some attention was deserved on Amiga and C64, even those versions failed to attain the proper fame. There were some groups that hailed this game and asked for more, but somehow their wishes were not heard.

And now it's clear why. Programmers changed company. After X-cCom came out, somebody rememebered Laser Squad and everybody rushed to find the game.

This game is highly recomended for all X-com fans. Game is not an official X-com predecessor, but is something like older parent. I'm sure that many of you will have lot of fun.

Game is definately 5 of 5. I guess that Strangelove gave it 4 as punishment: game is so good that you just have to ask for more.

I used to paly this on the Amiga. This game is the absolute dog's bollocks and in my opinion, has a lot more replayability to it than X-Com.

Yes, I remember it, I have on floppy disks and it is in storage. I loved playing it until I got something new. Now I don't have to wait to get it out of storage. Thanks Guys!
