I think you have to align them all the proper way (like you did earlier in the game), and THEN turn them all 180 degrees. Very contrary. k:

no, its NOT trial and error. it IS in the dialogue - unless your version of the game is totally screwed.

The solution to the final spindle puzzle in the Colossus isn't in the Dialogue, but can be seen on a wall in the lava maze; just FYI
