What I like is the review. It is plainly stated several times in the review that this game clearly suck in comparison to the original... But since the graphics are neat and it's the second of a series which the first game is a classic... Let's give it a 4.

I think I decided to preserve the original score given by Kosta. But never mind that. While the game sucks in comparison to the original, it holds well on its own. In this game I think I liked combat the most. The varied locations clearly give an additional incentive to play the game till the end.

Sorry... But you said several times that the control were unresponsive.
That's something I'd completely consider as game breaker. Furthermore: Quote:
I really think it should be changed to reflect more the current review. Right now the rating and the review are so disparate it's a joke on its own. |

Is true than jumping is a little harder than the original but i wont call it "game braking", also the final part is pure genius.

I absolutely loved this game! I wouldn't say it's better than the first one, as that would be an unfair thing to say of the older one, but this is a perfect sequel. I've heard people complaining that jumping is even more difficult than in the first one, but I found it initially difficult in both, but feasible to master. I didn't play both games in a row, I guess I may have got used to everything. The only difference I noticed--besides the more colorful graphics and the more varied scenarios--was that swordfighting was indeed quite more difficult, but that meant better. I give it a 5.

As much as I understand, there wouldn't be Prince of Persia 3 (which was quite horrible on it's own, admittedly) without this second one, even if the first game might have been the better one. Without the second game the first game would probably stay forgotten and a classic curiosity.
And without the third game in the series there wouldn't be the following ones, which are much better made. There's even a (in my opinion) quite good movie made based on one of the later series. |

Well, I beat it. I buckled down for 2 nights, kept my frustration at bay (as best I could) and resisted the temptation to cheat.
Kudos to levels 10 and 13 for being some of the hardest levels I've ever faced in video gaming. The last level was a pleasant surprise with how easy it was after the nightmarishs level before it. |

I've played both PoP and PoP2, and I'm a long-time fan of the first game. Never noticed any problems with controls (unlike Zorro for example). Frustrating areas and tough opponents? Yes, PoP2 does have that. I'll also be honest and tell that I did not figure out how to steal the flame by myself - I read a FAQ but IIRC I actually read it before playing the game (I got that FAQ with the Dirty Little Helper and read it because it was written by the same person who wrote a very good, fun to read FAQ for the first Prince of Persia game). But controls? I'd say they're nigh perfect in both games.
PoP2 sure is different from the first instalment in a number of aspects, and IMO it has lost something that was in the original game. However I wouldn't go so far as to say that the game is bad compared to its predecessor. True, I would have much preferred the second game to be something along the lines of the excellent SNES version, but PoP2 fares quite well on its own too.

Maybe some people are using bad dosbox settings and that's why controls get unresponsive? Was POP2 protected or real mode?
