Cool K'NEX - Lost Mines - The Adventure Begins - Special Edition

Hello All,
I've ran across another classic called K'NEX: Lost Mines The Adventure Begins, a special edition of it.:amused: It is made by EAI Interactive, also known as Engineering Animation Inc. The company produced many games before it's failure....

I don't see this game for sale anywhere and I was wondering it's copyright status, the "OWL" doesn't have anything even by the company name.

Once again I could provide an ISO if it is true abandonware, but I don't know any good freeware programs that make ISO...

I think you can make an iso with Winimage. Could use their free trial.

Hello again,
I did manage to find something called "FolderISO" freeware on softpedia, it was fairly simple to use. Simply right click on the CD/floppy in my computer and click "copy" and paste it in a folder on your computer. Then use FolderISO to create the ISO file and mount it with Daemon Tools. It worked well, however I had to find a program called "relaunch.exe" which bypassed some old Directx check on the game. Interestingly this was already included with the game, a rare find.

Here's some teasers:
(click thumbnails to enlarge)

In the story the K'NEX Kids are building a crane, except the evil mine monsters come and steal all the parts while they are building it. Your mission as K'NEX Kid is to bring back the missing pieces, but it won't be easy because you have to fight off all sorts of difficulties and puzzles.

Seems to be a good bit like an Isometric form of Vectorman. The graphics are very good for the time and they are certainly orignal.

Although the sound effects are good, it doesn't seem to have a soundtrack but it will play any music CD if it is in the Drive while the game is running, at least on my computer.

Well, at first it was hard to find info about this title, even MobyGames doesn't have it under EAI titles .

However I've found some buy links at Amazon, (used copies only)
But I still don't have info about Publisher and release date (at Wikipedia it says around 1998).
The game could be Abandonware, but I'm not sure of its status. (K'Nex brand is still used)
[Rejected] (If you have some info PM me)

I did a bit of research and found this.

So:

Developer: EAI Interactive
Publisher: K'NEX Online
Year: 1998

Since neither of these are part of ESA, and I can't find any support or even mention of the K'NEX game at the website, I think this game should be approved.

K'NEX: K'NEX Lost Mines [APPROVED]

Not under ESA protection, and no buylinks found.
Amazon Marketplace is discounted.

Please upload this game! I played it when I was very young, and I would love to experience it again.

Talking .iso

Perhaps a few years belated, but just in time for the 2015 new years....

Used dd on GNU/Linux to make a copy of the CD. Enjoy!
