You can avoid getting killed by flak even from short distance, I've seen it done on a LAN party once. Boy, that guy is GOOD. And shooting from a distance, well, if you got the skills to do it nobody can say it's wrong.

So, what about mods (not modEs)? Which are your favourite ones? I love Lazy Matrix (everything slows down to a crawl when you fight in close range, bullet effects from Matrix, and you can set it so that every weapon can do a headshot!), realistic weapons mod (don't know the real name, just imagine AK47 in UT ), and offcourse, Unreal 4 Ever mod! All of those are mods for original UT offcourse.

I have to go with UT also.
Best mods: The Bullet-time mod and OFCOURCE STRIKE FORCE.

IMHO Strike Force beats CS in playability.
The weapons are ballanced in a whole other way. I used to pwn with the MAC 10
It had virtually NO aim or precition, but made up for it with an enourmous RoF.
Tricky part was to get close enough.
Strike Force also featured penetrable objects like weak walls that an M4 or AK could penereate but not an Uzi.

If you have the chance to, try that mod.

I think I played that Strike Force mod... It was fun for a while.

I downloaded a 4 team CTF mod... would have been awesome if my computer didn't lag so much on it.

Anyway I never liked Assault all that much... Only modes I play are Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, CTF, and maybe a bit of Last Man Standing. 2003 brought in some of the most awesome maps.

It doesn't change the fact that UT sucks compared to 2004 :P

The problem usualy appears if you play UT2004 first and then UT. You get blinded by UT2004 graphics and miss the real values of UT.

I played UT first, then UT2003 and then UT2004. Thinking about it from a gameplay point of view I would go with 2004... it's got it all, vehicles, modes and maps.
