:help: I have an issue. I know, I know. I'm not a registered user, so everybody will ignore me like on the other websites. But it's worth a try.
You see, I've recently figured out how to fix the AUTOEXEC.NT error I was getting when I tried to play old games on my XP. It's great. Now I've beat Quest for Glory 1, 2, and 3. I have 4, too, but every time I try to open the floppy version, it opens as a black screen then closes, no error message or anything. Police Quest 3 does the same thing, (I have Police Quest 1, 2, 3, 4, and SWAT.) it says something like "Cannot initialize your music hardware" then closes completely. When I try to run the CD voice version of QFG 4 with VDMSound (or without), it comes up with a window saying, "FATAL ERROR: Can't find text entry for 'videoPrompt'.
This can be caused by a missing INSTALL.TXT or INSTALL.HLP file.
Module : TEXTDICT.CPP<203>
Press ESC to abort..."
So... what the heck does that mean?! :tai:
I really need help... I'm sorry if you all just consider this some spam...
