Sorry for the confusion(no more ecm)
The real problem here isn't ECM, it's the fact that the BOTH batch files have the same name.
Had you renamed them to UNECM1.BAT and UNECM2.BAT there was no problem.

Also:
Not all unarchivers use the relative stored paths, don't know how ultimate zip works, but it's possible it overwrites the batch files, and then , when you're not a prompt adept, you're in the shit.

But yeah, simplest solution is not to use ECM, the gain is minimal anyway.
Hardly worth the possible hassle.

And: we still don't know if what I think was what happened to Robinfe .... euuuurh that Batmangui I meant, let's wait and see.

BTW, that 'blame it on skillz' was a joky .....

Maybe i'm not familiar with ultimate zip either
And ur right about ecm..it didn't save enough to warrant using it again in my opinion

I'm trying the other method mentioned. If this doesn't work, I shall blame Ultimatezip, and instead 7zip the files.

EDIT: you know, when I got the game to work originally, it was on my mom's Vista! Same thing with Pandemonium! Could it be that Vista has better 9x emulation than XP? I'm gonna have to test this.

J Quest is an Win3 game, and I wouldn't be eager myself to run it directly in Vista as it needs QT 2.1 to run, that ol'quicktime installs a lot of crappy *.dll's in your \system\ maps.
On the other hand it runs fine in dosbox/W3.x:

I actually have the cds for this game and I had to install Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego (Kid cartoon version with ACME Good Guides) before the game actually worked. I have no idea why.

Ooof. No matter what I do and which version of quicktime for Windows 3.1 I install (including the recommended 2.1) this game will not install in Dosbox running Windows 3.1 for me. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to offer that I may be unaware of?

I'd really appreciate it as this game looks quite interesting.
