Stagnant would be a compliment, Abandonia has been completely abandoned. There has been immeasurably little activity, if any, since the website was "improved". Like I said once before, that's a real shame, because it was one of my favorite websites. It wasn't always a bastion of activity, but now it is barely functional.

Is there even a way to login other than by going to the forum? If there is, I can't find one. There are other threads for complaints and suggestions about the site, so I won't say more here. But it's extremely obvious now that the administration of Abandonia needs to be changed. There are still plenty of us here who are willing to take care of it. I'd be willing to pitch in a little myself, if I was able.

I appreciate those in charge right now who were attempting to improve the site, don't get me wrong. But they apparently are just not interested anymore, or don't have the time.

Some of it was directed to me personally so I won't reprint that. I don't think he would mind that I reproduce some of what he wrote.

As you may know we have recently rebuilt and relaunched Abandonia using a new platform based on Drupal to get better features in the future. There are still some tweaks being handled since the switch over. They are being dealt with continuously by the original Abandonia crew as well as the Studentis team.

Since we switched over to the new platform the monthly registered members have grown rapidly from a few hundred per month to more than 4000 registered in December 2007 which is an all time high. We hope that this also will lead to getting additional interest in the site and that it shall lead to extending the crew with members form additional language regions.

Nothing Earth shattering but the part in bold had me wondering if he knows of the lack of progress in getting things working. I did reply and asked him to check out the forums to see how dedicated the Abandonia following is. I wish he would read this thread.

of course the number of members increased... before there wasn't even option to register on "abandonia", only forums. and many people don't bother to check those.

there was no rapid popularity increase due to the new layout

Look, I've explained it all before and I won't do so again. Most of the old crew can't do jack s**t with the site anymore. It's like gettine angry at someone in the middle of a massive multiple traffic jam just because he's further down the road than yourself, even though it's not him who caused the whole affair.
