I have Morrowind but never completed it. I'll look into Oblivion and might buy it. It looks wonderfull and my computer can handle it but I'll probably wait for it to arrive on budget before buying. I'm dissapointed by the Bethesda stand on multiplayer.

I'm more interrested in what Fallout 3 will be.

I'll be really looking forward to the modding community digging its teeth into Oblivion. Instead of revving up after a while, as they did with Morrowind, most of the modders I know are prepared with what they want to do, and how to set about doing it. There will be a lot of transcription of excellent mods almost immediately, while other modders are looking forward to the extra depth afforded by Radiant script nesting.

Haven't played Morrowing and the reviews for that are mixed. Some say it's great others say the open-endedness just sucks. If I ever get around to buying a 360 I'll get it just to have a look.

Mass Effect, now that looks good

I spent ages on Morrowind the Elder Scrolls and i got pretty far in it too. Then my computer crashed and i lost all my save files (stupid computer :ranting: ). It kind of lost its appeal after that. But I liked what i did play, so ill have a good look at oblivion. k:

I dunno why everyone is so excited about this game. It's basically Morowind with bling-bling graphics and some bad things from Morrowind corrected (and surely some new ones).

I play a game, because it either has innovative gameplay or a really good story. So far, I don't know of either in Oblivion. I didn't really check though, when I heard half of my class going fanboy over the game I already had enough.

Well, for the gameplay: It really won't differ that much from Morrowind and although Morrowing had some great ideas, it was boring like hell. Walking from one town to another could've taken you a week. I hope they made the walking speed faster. And beside that flaw the game had nothing more to offer than every other "Dungeon Crawler" (what I mean are first-person RPGs).

As for the story: I've played Morrowind for a long time and besides the intro, I never caught a glimpse of the main story. :/

So, either Oblivion will be really good considering the story (I don't have many hopes for the gameplay) or it will get a "no-go" from me.

And before anyone starts arguing with me:
It's just my opinion. Other than various people around here, I'm tolerant towards other ideas and don't want everyone to have specifically my opinion.

If however someone wants to convince me, that Oblivion is indeed great, go ahead.
Just don't go "Oblivion is great! You're teh sucks!!". I won't really take that as a reason :P

I don't know, did you play the game so you have all the answers?

There is a main quest line in Morrowind, which you automatically follow (it's the Blades-trail), but there are very many side-quests and every guild offers its own quest-line. So, you can play for weeks without following the main quest, but you can also finish to game in a couple of days if you forget about all the other quests.

Morrowind has it's flaws and certainly isn't the best RPG ever written, but it's vast, detailed and has given (and still gives) me hours of fun (too many hours in fact ). That's why I'm looking forward to Oblivion k:

The eye-candy is also nice
