Actually, the "windows compatibility" of recent re-releases is a result of integrating DosBox with the games, not actual re-doing of the code to support modern hardware. Lame-o.

Oh, well. He's harsh once in a while, but basically he's a good mod. (look, he's 1337! )
Don't mind him go when someone asks "beginner" questions. He heard them 'bout 236995 times. So his kindness sometimes slips...

Narkoegle, in my opinion the publishers simply chickened out with the "solution" they used. That's why I consider what they did to be lame.

The site you link to buy this from is not very useful, apparently you can't order the game, and the type of payment required is not very clear.

IF I remember correctly the game 'maniac mansion' can actually be played in the game DAy of the Tentacle. Somewhere in the game there is terminal or so, where MM can be played.
BTW, there is a free remake of maniac mansion in VGA:

It's been a while since I played both MM and DOTT, but as I recall you can play the original Maniac Mansion, in all its pixelated glory, if you use the computer in Weird Ed's room on the third floor of the hotel (in the 1900s, that is...)
