Im not quite if it was call of booty but it was horribly laggy, without being any better looking than other such games. Bad coding I guess. EA Games, challenge your computer.

Yet it still sucks on doom 3 wow that game requrises a heck of lot of power to run. Then screw doom. Then sometime in the year 2009 I will buy it for xbox when it is like 3bucks. I have herd great thing about PainKiller. That is definetly on my to get list sometime time in the near future. Thank you all. |

On the topic of steam, I've always heard from friends who play CS on there that there are loads of "l33t" types, giving it all the "n00b l0lz0rz" crap, and I've never encountered that playing CS 1.6 on non-steam servers. So methinks non-steam CS wins there. I dunno about HL though.

Ok, so I haven't testing Doom 3...
but for half-life 2... I used: P4 2.4ghz GForce 4MX 64mb Video Card 256mb ram 40gb hard-drive So the game ran quiet well on lowest settings except that I couldn't play the last level because it was way too slow. So I'm pretty sure your pc will have no problems playing HL2 on lower graphics! |

Hey from what I have read PainKiller sounds a lot like Serious Sam. Is that true?

Yep, with around 25 times more enemies, weapons, and areas. You also get Tarot cards, which are like special powers you can use, if you get the Battle out of Hell expansion as well, it adds a ton of cool abilities, weapons, enemies and new areas.

@JJXB:
Yeah the pc that I mentioned earlier was my brother's pc. He got a ATI Radeon something that is 256mb and 1gb of ram and now it runs perfectly. |

Steam is the main reason I never finished HL2, and it's also the reason I can't be bothered installing it again. Great game, but Steam is just a total pain. Especially when your connection isn't that fast. Or when your connection is broken for whatever reason ¬_¬
