I'm at work, so I can't try it yet, but will take a look in local game shop to get the game, as I love adventure game.

Most anticipated new game at the moment for me would be Civilization 4. It's still years away and we have not heard one thing about where they are taking the new game but I have good hope that it will be better then the last game (they better make it better as I will not buy a game as bad as civ3 again).

Not sure why you did not like 3rd part, but I liked all little things they changed from 2. Graphics looks better, AI is pretty strong (in some cases too strong) and nice game play.

Would you have happened to play Galactic Civilizations by any change.

If not,
You should try it out,
for it might prove to be far more better than Civ 3 ever was,
And it is quite similiar to previous civilizations /inspired by them/,
(but superior in my book)

I know about galactic civilizations. I never tried it because I have not seen it in shops here (could be they only sell it on the internet or it has just never been released in the Netherlands). If I find it and the time to play it I will try it as I have heard from many that it is a good game.

Civ3 was not bad but it lacked the edge it's predecessors had. The thing that annoyed me the most was the win/lose battle system. You could lose battles you were not supposed to and the computer would win more often than not in those kinds of cases. I also hated the way the AI cheated. It always new where my lightly defended cities were and always would head straight for them even if it made no strategic sense for them to do so (I found out I could exploit this as well). Civ4 for me should be much more realistic rather then the arcade game that Civ3 (and civ and civ2) was at heart.

well... i havent been really updated in the gaming world... workin too much
but anyways... nowadays, the console games have gotten RELLY CRAPPY! it kinda pisses me off, cuz theres jus nothin good to buy anymore... nothing is worth my hours of difficult labor that amount to $50 not including tax... but yeah... console games today jus kinda suck... the replay values have become horrible, unlike the classics...
