Hello.

I can not get the game to speed up. I remember playing it many years ago and really wanna try it again
but the slow speed makes it impossible.

Please help. What's the deal with "ctrl & F12"? When do you press it? I tried it a couple of times but
nothing happened.

Are you running the game in DosBox?

hey guys

just played this game for the first time after many years.
I used to keep a record of my fastest laps. I remember i often became 3th or 4th with the penske chevrolet but the exact racing record i forgot.
How fast do you people race one lap?

cheers!

Great game ... my all time favorite!
I liked crashing the oponents in the past, too. But now it is more fun to race a nice 200 laps race. With the right configs of the LOLa/ Buick and the Penske/ Chevrolet the oponents are not a big problem. If I wouldnt crash during the 500 miles very often I would place first every time.
Btw my latest fastest lap is 38.79 s (232.02 mph) with the Penske/ Chevrolet. The LOLa/ Buick is just as well. But the fastest configs are only for high-speed purposes, not for endurance race, because the capability of maneuverability is quite bad with a full tank. I think I drove even a bit faster in the past but i cant remember the correct values.
The fastest configs of LOLa/ Buick and Penske/ Chevrolet which are adequate for a longer race do a top speed of 230.53 mph (39.04 s) with an almost empty tank.
Keep racing ...

Btw I'm looking for a good config of the March/ Cosworth. For now I get this car relatively fast, but not as fast as the L o l a/ Buick or Penske/ Chevrolet. In addition the maneuverability of the March/ Cosworth is utterly bad. Maybe some of you guys figured it out

I remember circling around in 37.98 or so (236,96 mph) with the L o l a Buick during qualifying when I was really into this game. The speedometer was never below the top speed it can reach.
Racing was a totally different matter, though: the engine was always over revved so it couldn't last much more than 4 laps and turning turbo boost and gear ratios down resulted in a much less competitive entry (funny enough, that had always been a problem with Buick/Menard engines: they couldn't match top competitors on race day because they required maximum boost all the time).
btw does any1 know how to turn sound fx on? I'm starting to run under Dosbox now.
Thanx any1!
