1. Check DosBox.conf and set the soundcard emulation to Sound Blaster Pro or Sound Blaster 2 Pro.
2. Check the game's setup file, and make sure it is configured to use Sound Blaster, IRQ 7, 220h, DMA 1.

To fix DUNE sound audio under XP try

duneprg AMR VGA MID330 HIM 386

in dune.bat

Great Game.

for me the setup (install.exe) didnt work to change soundsettings, but i found
a way to activate the soundblaster (im sure you need dosbox anyway).
Just edit the dune.bat and write SDB just behind the 386... you can also set the language there. My dune.bat now looks like this:
@echo off
duneprg GER VGA EMS 386 SDB

you can also write ADL for adlib.. but who wants this, when soundblaster can do the work

Does this copy of Dune have that Cheat Modifier? Ive got an old copy on two disks form back in the day...and at the dos prompt you execute d.exe and it runs the game with the modifier...

Dune ranks as my favourite all time game...Still waiting for a game that would be similar to it...Has anyone played Reunion?

Would you, or anyone else, happen to still have the cheat?
I am currenlty searching for it, and iit seems, that every copy you find from the cheat on any site I looked is missing the overlay file, dune.trn
So the cheat comes back with, Trainer missing overlay. Then the cheat doesn't work.

Went to a shop today and saw the Dune CD-version for 0.98 eurocents...

And for the people who can't get the music to work (Win XP with Sp2)

Download VDMSound

Run install WITH VDM-sound (the cd-version stutters that it can't mount the file, neglect it)

Automatic configuration

Run dune with VDM-sound.

I have the VOICES and the Sound!

have you tried the fix described in the post 2 slots above yours? If not then perhaps you could try that and see how you get on.

I had the same problem with Dosbox Jazeker.
Try to run "comm.bat" instead of "dune.bat".
The sound is ok, however I get no voices.
