I know it's over a dozen years old, but have you tried today's update?

Bad Mojo, it's a good adventure, where you play as a roach, it's very weird, the graphics are not cartoony, it's an actual roach that moves through photorealistic backgrounds, I don't know if this game is famous or not, but it's OK, IMO...
The game dates back from 96' but they decided to make a remake last year, I'm not sure if many things have changed...

Try yesterday's update: Alien Incident. Besides that one, there's the two Syberia games, which're already mentioned. If not for those, try Tonight The Shrieking Corpses Bleed or Caitlyn's Destiny. Other than those, you can still browse The Crow's Nest. Especially look for the Apprentice games on there k:

Stroggy you must find some way to play Zork Grand Inquisitor. If you have to install Win98 on a machine just to play it - then do it! If you have to give your little toe away - do it.

Zork GI is one of those must play adventure games. Like I said in an earlier post - Zork GI is the pinnacle for first person adventures in my opinion.

It also ranks as one of my top 5 adventure games of all time.
It works perfectly on my XP machine, even at normal speed (unlike Zork Nemesis, which scrolls too fast). Took me a long time to find a copy of that game, which I believed to be an oldschool point & click adventure, just with digitized graphics. To my dismay it turned out to be a MYST style game, something I don't like in the least.

Maybe my version is broken then, pity since it took me quite a bit of work to find it.

What seems to be the problem? Did you try to copy the whole game to the HD?

No I've got the game on CD, had to place a special order at a shop and pay an extra fee.

Just Adventure Stroggy, this looks like an interesting site for adventure game lovers.

Here's a newer adventure game you might not have heard about: Aura Fate of The Ages It's listed in the action, adventure section of Ebay but it's not an action game.

Oo-oh, here's a much better site for Aura FOTA. It's the official one: http://www.auragame.com/us/index.html

The Crystal Key sounds good, too. It's a sci\fi adventure. You'll probably find out something about it on the Just Adventure site (above) and about its sequel: Crystal Key 2. http://www.justadventure.com/Upcoming_Rele...rystalKey2.shtm

Unfortunately the screenshots make it appear a bit too Myst-like for me.
These games are by the same company that released Aura and they're currently working on a few new releases. So the adventure genre is far from dead. However the charm and 'cosiness' of the old DOS games can't seem to be recaptured in the sprawling 3D Windows games.

Well different strokes for different folks.

But then again what were you expecting :bleh: You are a nameless and faceless adventurer... 3rd person point 'n click wouldn't quite work out don't you think ;p

I hope you at least played the game through to the end. I personally wouldn't bash it for being similar in style to Myst. If anything Myst is giving it a bad name. Like I said earlier, it's unlike Myst in the fact that you are not some utterly alone adventure on an island devoid of habitants. There are great puzzles (logical) unlike Myst. There is humour and very memorable characters.

If you haven't played Z:GI just because it plays from the same book as Myst (i.e. First person perspective) then you are missing out on one of the best first person adventures let alone one of the best adventures of all time.

I have played the game at least a dozen times over the years - I still can't fault it for anything.

One of my all time favourites
