Default Lovely!

Great game, great game!
I've not gotten too far yet, but I'm hooked, and in love.
Adventure/RPG ftw.

Finished the game as the character I created..Great graphics but the game was SHORT...I am going to play it again as a different character to see what happens..At the moment I feel the game just did not live up to its potential. Did not have the atmosphere and scariness of "Shadow of the comet"

This game is driving me nuts.

I am playing 'the scroll' version. And I am reading the second letter. It's pretty obvious there is a second page but I don't know how to 'go to 2nd page'..

This interface is crazy.

EDIT: Ok, the critical spot was a tiny pixel on the bottom right edge of the letter.. argh.,

wow, this has to be the shortest game i've played. It was even shorter than Heart of China. I managed to finish it between my two posts here

Playing the 'scroll' version as an egyptiologist, yes it!

I only encountered 1 [one] puzzle!

Possible spoilers here...

This game had such potential. When I created my character, I looked at the myriad of different skills and thought, "this game is BIG", and I assumed that I would get to develop those skills as the game progressed. Alas, I couldn't even access my stats once I started playing, but I soon discovered that the stats aren't actually used for anything anyway. They just make your character add some informative comments here and there whenever a topic is discussed which is covered by his talents, which do not actually contribute to anything.

I think this game was originally meant to be very long, as the skill system and map feature indicate. I have only played through once, but I only got one map-update (the police station). Normally a game with maps of this kind will have many map updates, giving you more locations to visit as you progress (a la Gabriel Knight). And with all the research put into the game (the extensive notes in your inventory, for example) this feels like a game that had great ambitions, but failed to follow through.

I did enjoy it while it lasted, but unfortunately it didn't last.

Picking a different set of skills vastly alters the way the game plays out. Having said that... it is ridiculously short.

Try playing it specialising in just one skill tree. And then a different skill tree.

Choosing a different set of skills will vastly alter the opportunities open to you. I'm not sure how many different possible story lines there are, but I suspect the separate graphics for each of them are the main reason the game is so short. Don't get me wrong, the general plot is still the same, but, e.g., my first play-through had almost nothing in common with the walkthroughs.

I never got *any* map updates! Past a certain point, the game turned into a train speeding to its conclusion, with nothing I could do to stop it (even dying didn't work, heh... though I suspect that was a bug). Choosing nothing still progressed the plot... which I didn't mind too much, because I failed to grab the powder, and dropped the lens.
