no, it only changes "frames per second" shown on your monitor, graphic stays

I think it's due to having a new-ish ATI graphics card, which probably doesn't support older stuff.

Hi,

Not sure if this will be any help but..

Maybe check to see if you have not forced vertical sync to be off in your graphics card properties. Vertical sync can help improve FPS but can also creating screen tearing. (Not sure if this affects old games however and I'm also not sure if this is the effect your seeing.)

Also if you are using DOSBox try setting fulldouble to be true in dosbox.conf.
