![]() My brother is trying to set up his wireless card for his desktop in his back bedroom. Everything is installed fine, and it connects to our router fine, but only at certain times. Whenever our neighbors come home and turn on their wireless router, his computer automatically connects to that gateway instead of ours. This gives him a really weak signal, but it won't switch over to ours.
I know on most laptops, there is a little icon that says "Available Wireless Networks in the Area" that you can choose which to connect to, but this isn't appearing on his desktop. He is running Windows XP, and the wireless card is a RealTek. The RealTek setup thing won't let us specify who we connect to either. Any help on how to make the card connect to our router? |

![]() tha'ts kind of an anoying problem...
I guess the two networks uses the same frenquancy.. See if you can change the frenquency you're using. (or ask your neigbourg if he can chage his) Ask you neibough to ban you from their network maybe. (and make sure you ban him from you're unless you want him to access) But, if the two are effectively using the same frequancy , you'll have interferance, so it'll be useless the two router may have the same ip adresse, causing the network problems. |
