I played this game on the Commodore 64. It was incredibly fun even though the graphics weren't that great. But like most Microprose games at the time, I loved the mission and ranking elements where you'd choose a mission and earn medals and rank up depending on how well you did. It was very satisfying. I remember going on difficult missions and barely escaping. I don't know how realistic it is to fly for miles without any fuel and glide to the runway and land safely, but I did it often.

I remember playing this on my friend's PS2 and he did get the patch from a bbs to change the f19 into the f117 and everything else stayed the same. This sight really brings back memories.

First got this game when I bought a joystick that had a cd of demo games.
I loved it, even though it was just the Libya mission. No directions, no keyboard map, I had to just press keys and try to get it to work.
This was pre-Internet, but mid 1990s so the game had come and gone in the stores. I had to search second hand game stores to find it and finally did. It had the box, original manual, and keyboard templets.
I got it for about $2.00

Played it until I got an XP machine. That one would not recognize the sound drivers or the USB joystick. Funny how you miss these simpler games. The ones today are to complex to enjoy.

F-19 Stealth Fighter runs in DosBox on modern computers, so you can still enjoy some old school gaming action!

Wait, there was a playable demo of F-19? I've only been able to locate the unplayable one, with a recorded mission in North Cape. There's also a playable demo of Nighthawk F-117A, with the possibility of playing the air-ground and air-air combat training missions in Lybia (you can switch to real combat mode by pressing Alt+T, but the results won't be recorded anyway). I assume that the mission in that F-19 demo was the same as the mission in the full game that you get if you fail the copy protection test?

I am not having any luck getting this to run in DOSBox. I start DOSBox, mount the drive, and select the correct directory. But I have tried running every .exe file in the directory and can't get the game to start. The one file that does anything at all is SU.exe. That gives me a start screen and the prompt "Do you have a joystick? (Y/N)". I don't have a joystick, and can't get the program to accept any input from my keyboard or mouse. I am hung up at this prompt.

The keyboard control page suggests running KEYBUK, that might help but I can't figure out how.

There's your problem. It's F19.COM
