Bleh. That film is extremely overrated, as most people concentrate on the action (which is quite good, although now everyone does it) rather than the hours of existentialism.

Anyway, that's just me.

Hmm I would say probably the start of Austin Powers : Goldmember. That's a top-class intro to a film.

The opening minute of Akira, finally watched it yesterday and the zoom out of tokyo followed by the blast is incredible and then the word Akira appears on the screen with the shock chord.

Because of that last comment, I was going to say something about the opening FMV in FFVII, but that's not a movie so I shouldn't really be telling you how INSANELY AWESOME it is...

Anyway, I like the bit in LOTR: The Two Towers where the good guys come and save the day at Helms Deep, right near the end of the movie. It beats all the others, because it's not just cool because of special effects or whatever.

*WARNING* MAJOR SPOILERS OF THE FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST MOVIE*DON'T LOOK OR BR SPOILED*

Hmm, one of my all time favorite movie moments was in fullmetal Alchemist the movie: Conqueor of Shambala, where the nazi lady, forgot her name, went throught the gate and is attacking the Central city, and she thinsk shes winning, then all of a sudden one of her planes rushes past her and almost hits her ship, and on the back is Edward elric. that is one of THE most awesome movie scenes ever, though its done a lot cooler than you'd think just hearing it described to you. :P Here are a couple screens I took, warning don't look if you don't want the movie to be spoiled.

Ed is on the back of a plane.

uh oh, Eds in trouble, its a nazi plane!

uh oh, the nazi woman isn't happy to see Ed alive

Ed trys to perform an alchemy on the back of the plane in midair, one of the coolest parts of the movie!
