Hey umm. ya ok I suck at photo editing LOL, but um, does anybody know how, or a tutorial about how to blend pics together with a backround using photoshop/paint? I tried looking at the tutorial sticky, but I didn't really see too much...

if you're going to blend a pic nicely, you first need to learn how to cut...

my two favorite methods are using the polygonal lasso to select the area, or using the pen tool to select the area.

Polygonal lasso takes longer, as you have to click around the entire area painstakingly... when you're done, you can add a feather to the selection to make it nicer using the Selection menu options.

With the pen tool, you can sort of wing it, and then come in with the "Add anchor" tool and fix the resulting shape to fit your outline... then right click on the shape, choose "Make selection". Then it'll ask you if you want to feather the edges (it's usually prettier if you do by one or two pixels)...

then select the layer that the image is on that you want to cut out, copy, and paste it over your background.

And then, you just have to play with blending modes and opacities to achieve the desired effect

As for blending with Paint...

1. You need a lot of patience (cause it's going to take time)
2. You need to zoom in 6x (so that you can still make out the picture, and see which pixels to remove)
3. Then you start removing a frame around the target one pixel at the time.
4. Now that you have the frame you can cut out the image you want and then remove the little that still remains outside the frame.
5. Cut out the picture again (remember to use the background colour as your "right mouse-button" colour)
6. Click on the bottom button in the left menu (where you have all the tools, like pencil, filler and so on) This will make the areas of your picture matching your right mousebutton colour transparent.
7. Move the picture to its new home, and you will have a perfect match.

So... in conlclusion... if you have PS, use it
