For those wanting a complete(cutscenes and all), patched version of the game, there's CD rip of v1.29W [EDITED]
New features include mouselook, different player/pick-up sounds(somewhat dissapointing here), cool FOV distortions(death, swimming, injury), boss savegames, performance improvements, etc. Cheers and happy gamming! Last edited by Paco; 04-12-2009 at 12:28 PM. Reason: no Warez |

I gave this one a whirl yesterday, only to find out its quite a kickass. Combat's a bit weird and sometimes it feels like hits arent effective, but the platforming parts are really great.
Also, I think the review should mention that it has the old Montezuma's Revenge as a bonus. It works on Windows too. |

Can't seem to get game working
I can't get this game to play at all. I'm running it in DOSBOX, and anytime I try running monte.exe, all I get is a black screen. Anyone know how to get the game running? I played this years ago and would love to be able to play it again. Thanks ahead of time!

Montezuma's Return Full Patched 1.29w Win7 Compatible
Montezuma's Return!
*Abandonware - game is not being sold anywhere and there is no more 1.29w patch to allow the game to be played on modern systems* https://mega.co.nz/#!ywpDTTjD!dSt2Mk...S4CwyUWAY7lxNY Patched to latest 1.29w. Supports Windows VGA and 3DFX modes, DOS mode, and the Montezuma's Revenge DOS game. Also, mouse support, extra levels and bug fixes are implemented. 0. Install the complete full game to the harddisk. 1. Disable FMV in monte.cfg (FMV=OFF) or in-game options, to prevent loading crash OR see under 8. 2. Works on Windows 7 - no compatibility required (play with compatibility if problems occur!). 3. wmenu.exe is the game launcher. 4. mwsetup.exe is for resolution settings. 5. wmonte.exe is VGA Windows version of the game. 6. gwmonte.exe is 3DFX Windows version of the game - requires a wrapper like nGlide. 7. Other exe files are for DOS version and the Montezuma's Revenge DOS game. 8. For those whose game crashes in WinXP when playing cutscenes, try replacing smackw32.dll with a newer version. http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopi...a-smackw32.dll |
