![]() Simply don't start in europe! the best place to start is NE USA.
Set up factories and offices there and not in europe untill you've been playing for aroung 2-3yrs. |

![]() I have found that if you create a another family sedan to sell along side the one that is already created and you upgrade your factory to a level 2 factory you should make a profit. (all this needs to be done in the 1st month)

![]() HI. Could anyone help me? My cars are always under 70%, what should I do? I'm using cutting edge technology, but it's still not enough. Is it good to put always the newest part in each model? For example : I had a family car with 94% overall, then i put a better engine, new suspension and brakes and it drop to 73%, why? Despite this facts, the game rocks !

![]() Well from what I understand of the game it also depends on the chasis (they've got a lot to do with aerodynamics of the car). Newer isn't always better, so if the old combination of parts was good - don't change it simply because something new was discovered.

![]() I solve this problem by launching DET001.EXE instead of DETROIT.EXE. (with dosbox under Debian (linux)).
Some tips for newbs in this fabulous game (but too easy :/): - Start your company in NE or NO - Build offices in No/Ne/Se/So (max to min) , then Northern Europe and Canda - Don't affect more than 15/20 guys per line of production, increase the factory level instead. - Don't create others cars before find tech. (and do not build pick-up.. etc before a long time, only sport car and "family cars" ? (berline in french). - Don't build factories outside North America (transport costs...) - Don't build too many offices at the beginning, it costs per month. - Apply a price for car, it's boring to change it in each region, then increase prices with the "global" percent option. - Check stocks every month !!! and adapt production/price very slowly - Employ researchers until the maximum allowed.. (do not forget that salary offers you the possibility to employ) After 1920, you should win 3.000.000$ per month. Then, as soon as you've understood this game, improve your strategy, and get fun with crazy cars (sorry for my english, i'm drunk and... french :P) |

![]() This game is great. However, I always make less than what the competition makes. I start the game by making ~15k-45k per month every year until ~1911. During this time frame I upgrade my factory every time I get a chance and fire a few workers. I also open offices in other countries/regions (about one every year). In the game that I survived the longest I had a level 6 factory in NE USA with 2 lines (Model A and Model B) at about 50-60 assm workers per line. I had offices in Canada, all of the US, South America, Northern Europe, and Southern Europe (S.E. earned me $0 a month for reasons I dont know). A few months after the start of WWI, my profits went from 70k per month to -30k per month. I checked the competition and they were making the same amount as before! It get's frustrating and I just cant get past 1915 without getting bankrupt. Any suggestion are appreciated.

![]() Also what's a good % to sell your cars at? I've been selling mine at 300% (3x the material cost). Is this too low?
