hardly. best scoring players are not playing - Smodiš (club didn't let him), Tušek (injured), Udrih (injured) & Vujačič (probably a good personal decision not to play).

Ožbolt (Injured) is more defensive than high scoring player.

If we had those instead of some unexperienced and some lame substitutes no one could touch us.

Ah yes not all are playing in USA some get more money here in europe while in USA they would be only rookie with low rookie salary (e.g Lakovič - Panathinaikos - good salary+car+flat+...).

I don't care how much they score - as long as the other team scores less

Well Slovenia made it to the next round - where it will face the winner of the game between Turkey and Germany (so it's one of those two teams).

EDIT: Slovenia is playing Germany (Turkey lost today).

A big surprise just happened - FRANCE put the hosts out of the turnament!!! That's right - Serbia and Montenegro lost, after being in lead for the first 3/4 of the game!

Croatia also went on after defeating Italy and Greece won over Israel.

Greece passed through the difficult Russia so it is in the semi finals for the first time since 1997!

France just made it into semi-finals too!

This means that two teams Slovena played against in the qualifications (and already defeeted) have made it through.

so if Slovenia makes it to the finals - we will be facing a team we've already defeeted in this championship - that's a deffinete boost for the moral (still have to defeet Germany and Croatia/Spain though).

If we (Croatia) repeat our play against Turkey, Spain will be no match to us. Do you know that, in match against Turkey, Croatia had a scoring spree of 32-0 at one period of the game!!! It was great pleasure to watch that, it was absolute destruction.

A random side comment, but the name "Eurobasket" just sounds ridiculous.

Why?

And what was the purpose of that post? If you're not interested in dicussing the results or basketball in general, you should restrain yourself from comments like that.

EDIT: Even though this post could be defined as flaming, don't get it that way. Let's just not go off-topic.

I think Slovenia will defeat Germany. Germany just doesn't feel that strong to me during this tournament.

I am afraid that Spain will defeat Croatia too, for the same reasons. Mind you I have no preference and just stating personal opinion. Though I agree if Croatia is in a good day, can defeat Spain.

I tell you though, I miss the old basketball team of Yugoslavia.
Anyway, I want to believe that Greece will defeat France again in the semi finals, though of course you never know, France is not a pushover. In which case I predict (very dangerous for anyone who follows the tournament over the last 20 years) that the final will be Slovenia vs Greece. Will see.
I only wish I had a TV and a way to watch these games (all of them).
