intelligence is measured by acheivements.

He became the most powerful man on earth, that's one hell of an acheivement.

What did you acheive?

You're conflating "intelligence" with "money" and "connections."

American political positions are purchased, not earned with intelligence. The Bush family isn't alone: look at the Taft, Adams, and Kennedy families. Note also that most of these families derive their power and influence from smuggling, a well-known secret.

my point exactly! (well, no it's not, but I like saying that).
Having your own president is an investment and you don't want to waste that on an idiot (even if the man is your eldest son). The reason you don't want to do that isn't impresions (which you don't care about in any context except how they influence your own ratings of popularity), but the fact that he might make some pretty bad mistakes (note that while bush blunders regualrily on stage, his politics are pretty solid and logical, if a bit hard on the clasees below burgeose). And his image of an idiot (many leaders through out history pretended to be simple folk, you didn't belive that's what they were, did you guys?) comes very handy when his administration does make mistakes.

ADDED: 2 whoever voted for that: how is Bush a geek?
idiot, alien, warmonger, draft dodger or even drug user I can get, but geek?!

Connections or not. more than 50% of us citizens voted for him as president. Don't tell me now that 50% of us citizens will vote for an idiot

Two things wrong with that statement:

1) Voter turnout was around 40%, so only 20% of US citizens voted for him.
2) Actually, if you recall, he only got 49% of the vote in the 2000 elections.

I thought the turn out was like 26% not 40.

I voted for "other". Meaning in my case he is a traitor. He is not pursuing those that have harmed the USA, or those that want to. He is after targets that will help him and his cronies, but not the country. Instead of focusing on capturing or exterminating for good the heads of the Al *meep*ira, he is wanking off with other people's lives while constantly damaging the reputation and the economy of the USA. He is atraitor also because he has broken the constitution, on purpose.
He is a traitor because because of his inaction many more than they should have, died in Louisiana, he knew muck was coming, he did nothing but lie, even say afterwards that none knew it was going to hit so bad when in his own fraking meetings even the idiot ex head of FEMA and his advisors told him that THIS IS IT.
He is nothing but a liar, traitor and the wrost president in ages. I can't wait for him to get out of the office.
(I hope that McCain is the next president).

how did you get to vote? weren't you a greek from england?
as for the N.O. tragedy, that too was completely logical- they're a democrat stronghold. If indeed that was a plan (what with all the budget cuts and the incompetent but extemely loyal chief of FEMA) than I don't think there is much chance the situation will improve any time soon (he has brother doesn't he?).
to put in in the words of a classic: "be afraid, be very afraid."

I stand corrected, I must have been thinknig of the UK elections with the 40% stat.

Good point with Katrina, it was a week before anything went into New Orleans aftter the hurricane. Consider that it was one day before peopel starting coming to help with the Pakistan earthquake shortly after and you can begin to imagine what an unholy ****-up that was, and how many needless deaths there were. The reason for this was Bush abusing the Homeland Defence Force by sending it into Iraq, that's the reason why there is a Homeland Defence Force, it's not an offensive army. Ditto with the UK Territorial Army being sent to Iraq, they're supposed to be a defensive force.

I, incidentally, voted for "Total Bastard", I can't be sure if he really is an idiot or if he's faking it, but that I can be sure about.
