Scrooge



Deary Scrooge I once was
My very own dream within a dream
From the open window, ghosts they came
and lighted my room with their gleam.

The first shadow did not speak,
yet it comforted me with his pure eyes
His past reminisced, or was it mine?
with the beauty of a thousand skies...
Those eyes I should have known
Many years before were my own
But they faded...

Distant voices, sick and jaded
A Chopin's prelude from my right
My garden gates my guide invaded,
thoughtless I headed to the light
Open window still, the specter flied
Mumbling reached my ears as I drew nearer
Slowly understanding the visitor
as my vision became clearer

And the future shade it came and sent me
where the season was still the same
One day after my burial day,
where tomorrow was only yesterday.
My cold home the tenuous spirit shown;
Blood marks still on the room's floor
Where a tainted blanket was left alone
And the future was no more
