Here's a suggestion. Every time you light up a cigarette, imagine in your mind as you inhale the smoke how much your chances of getting some kind of nasty disease increases. Think about how the quick pay-off will cripple you in the long run. Although I agree that whats his name was a little insensitive, he brought up a rather good suggestion; rent some videos of people with cancer(if any exist) and burn their desparate sad and worried faces into your mind, so that whenever you think about smoking you will think of them. Read up on the scientific journals about the harmful effects of smoking. If you just know it is bad, then you can push that aside, but if you fill your mind with all the details of the effects it will be hard for your mind to logically let you smoke I believe.look at it like this....if you don't smoke for the next 3 months it will be hell, but you'll grow, heal and if you stay clear of any buses you'll live a long life. If however you sell out and take a puff, you will feed that little demon in your head, continue being your habit's little bitch and probably get cancer and use a breathing machine for the last 10 miserable years of your short life. You will always be addicted to cigarettes, and you can NEVER ever smoke again.
If you are serious about quiting you must burn(and not inhale) all your smoking paraphanillia. I pray for God's strength to fill you with the power to take control of your health and life. amen

sorry got a little carried away there.

When I think of smoking I immediately think of a lady that was touring the schools around my area. She had so much energy, I never saw her in person, just on our local broadcasting network. She showed pictures of herself before the kemo-therapy and she was drop dead gorgeous. beautiful eyes full of life, a smile that would light up any room. Also some of the pictures had her with her daughter, they looked very happy.
While watching her lecture to all the high schooler's, with her skeletol apperance and pale white skin, wereing a hat to cover her bald head all I could see from her was desparation.
I remember her looking at one of the girls in the audiance, and saying she didn't know how much time she had left and that she could very well drop dead right there. The girl went right into tears, and the lady went over to her and looked her right in the eyes and made her promise to never start smoking. They hugged after that. The doctors were blown away that she could even function properly, they suspected the high amounts of radiation had killed the pain receptors in her brain and that was the only thing keeping her out of bed. She died last year, God knows how many lives she saved. We all think it won't happen to us. Our health is so vitally important, and we don't realize it till it is gone. Don't waste you life away on a useless craving that can be controlled.
Her name was Barb Tarbox. I suggest you look her up on the internet and read her message any people who are trying to quit.
Good luck in your quest for freedom.

Yeah, she was an exceptional woman, and it goes to show how the tabacco industry is robbing us of really great and wonderful people every day. I'm guilty of the occasional smoke when I'm drinking, but I've never been addicted to tabacco, probably cause I'm cheap LOL. I understand the chemical addiction is so powerful, but I just can't help but keep begging you all to stop smoking. You understand of course that the people who developed those smokes for you knew a long time ago that they were killing you guys, and kept on going masking their products harmful effects just to make money. Doesn't that piss you off? People are not only robbing you of your money, but they are also robbing you of your life..

Tabacco is the only legal product that, even when used correctly, harms the user.
Also, tabacco companies are trying to get new users all the time. why? They kill off their old users.
