what u say there makes sense, but I have my ghost files from my Athlon 800 Mhz machine, and I can keep up with, and actually managed to beat 1 of them on my Turion 2GHz ?

So I dont think that the speed argument holds up all that much, almost like quake where the programmer actually knew what he was doing when he programmed the game... I dont believe I actually just typed that about THE john carmack !
My ghosts are at the link I posted above

i don't think it matters much on which computer you run it ......

the lap times shouldn't be different at all , if the game goes too fast then just slow it down

Hello everybody,

I find Ignition a really great game, but:

I can start the game in 3DFX mode, it looks smooth but the whole display stutters. I cant play it that way.

Anyone know how to solve this problem???

I have:
PII 400 MHz
328 MB RAM
Win98SE
Voodoo2/Banshee/Diamond monster fusion 16 mb
direct X 9.0

I have installed the version with the 3DFX version 3 included (from this site)

I want to play in the smooth mode please help,

Mat

your specs seem good enough, only thing that I can think of is maybe try an earlier version of directx.

unless you are using some kind of hacked voodoo driver, seeing that u are using dx9. I used to play glide ignition but with the official drivers (at the time) the last set that was released before they stopped official driver support.
The only thing I cant remember was if I had my 800 athlon at the time or my cyrix 200 MHz

but my most likely thought would have been your driver and directx combo which might be causing the trouble.

is it stuttering at both 640x480 and 800x600 ? I have SLI , but cant remeber if I enabled it for this game or not

I also have a diamond, but was lucky enough not get the banshee !

As I had suspected it had something to do with the graphics
I simply turned down some of the options and its works great now.

And to all those who are critisizing windows I repeat: It works great

What did you do, it doesn't work at my computer.

Well, I just tryed it and it works fine.
Hints:
1- Try to download it again. There might have been something wrong with your download.
2- Which version of Winzip are you using? I used Winzip 9.0 and as I said, it worked fine.
